Patient referred to PET to assess progress of therapy.Whole-body, FDG PET scan found a focal area of uptake in the right lung. After PET found the lung lesion, a much stronger cycle of radiation and chemotherapy was initiated. After this round, CT and echo scans of the liver were both negative. However, a second PET scan found liver lesions, a lung lesion, and hypermetabolic areas in the abdominal lymph nodes.
